ATESL Membership Fee Increase - January 1, 2024

The ATESL Board would like to inform all members about an upcoming Membership Fee increase which was discussed at the Annual General Meeting on October 27, and was posted in the Presidents' Report online in the AGM Agenda.

ATESL has operated with the same membership fees since 2019, but over the past few years, the cost of doing business has steadily risen. Operating with the same membership rates has become increasingly challenging. The Board has discussed membership fees at length and agreed that a small increase is due.

The Board has approved a 2.5% increase for 2024, which became effective on January 1, 2024.

  • One year Regular memberships will increase by $1.45 to $59.45
  • Two year Regulary memberships will increase by $2.50 to $102.50
  • Student, Volunteer, and Unemployed/Retired memberships will increase by $0.95 to $38.95

Note- 5% GST and a $2 online service fee will be applied to these rates

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

ATESL 2023: Resilience, Resources and Strength in Language Teaching

We would like to sincerely thank all conference committee volunteers, registrants, presenters, exhibitors, and sponsors for making the 2023 Conference such a success!

The ATESL 2023 Conference theme: Resilience, Resources and Strength in Language Teaching acknowledges that the past three years have been challenging for language educators. Coming together after all this time will be an opportunity to share what we have learned in a supportive environment.

Throughout the pandemic, English Language educators exhibited their resilience, willingness to develop and share resources, and strength in their ability to adapt teaching methods and to learn new ones. ATESL would like to acknowledge that this is a vibrant and supportive group, and we were so excited to host this two-day conference for our members.

Please email Johnson and Jani if you have any questions.

Online Learning Resources

A Google Drive folder was created during the early days of the pandemic in 2020 as a repository of valuable teaching resources, and a Google Doc which contains links to online learning tools and sessions.

This folder will remain available to our members for the forseeable future.

This is a strong and giving community, and together we can help one another and our learners.
