Summary
Come join us for this in person presentation will focus on sharing ideas about the promotion of equity, diversity, and inclusion within educational spaces, and how to enable inclusive learning environments where students can thrive and develop a sense of belonging in their new social context.
Presenter
Hernando (Nando) Ortega. Project Manager, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. University of Lethbridge.
Originally from Colombia, He has lived in Alberta for the past 14 years, in Edmonton, Calgary and Lethbridge. His experience in Canada has been working with non-profit agencies in Calgary, managing and leading social service programs particularly in the field of settlement and integration, as well as working on equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. He holds a BA and MA in anthropology and have previous experience in Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador working with local governments and universities in qualitative research and social inclusion projects.
