Call for ATESL 2022 Tech Lead, Tech Support and Moderators

Current Opportunties
Tech Manager
The Tech Manager is a paid position and will ideally have used the Pheedloop platform previously as an administrator / moderator.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Become familiar with the Pheedloop platform and its different features related to Presentation sessions
- Lead, train, and manage presentation session moderators (i.e. Introduce presenters, announce recording, time keeping, and facilitating Q&A )
- Participate and facilitate in run-through sessions at least a week before the conference
- Troubleshoot during the conference
- Oversee moderators and provide support
- Help with audio/video/sessions support
- Contact Pheedloop support if initial troubleshooting fails
- Liaise and work closely with ATESL conference IT support
Tech Support
Tech support plays an essential volunteer role by ensuring a smooth conference experience. Responsibilities include:
- Pre-conference: Attend a brief Tech Support session, train in simple troubleshooting, meeting the speaker before the session for a session run through (audio/camera setup, managing roles, file upload/screenshare, etc).
- Pre-session: Presenter tech check and help with audio/video/sessions support
- During the session: Float between sessions and provide support via chat as needed
Session Moderators
Session moderators are volunteers who play an essential role by ensuring presenter and participants have a great experience. Responsibilities include:
- Pre-conference: Attend a brief moderator session, participate in run-through sessions and get acquainted with presenters at least two weeks before the conference
- Pre-session: Review presenter needs
- During the session: Introduce presenters, announce recording statement, time keep, basic IT troubleshooting, liaise with Tech Support or contact Pheedloop support if initial troubleshooting fails
- End of session: Facilitate Q&A (if required)
Requirements
- Commit to volunteering for a half-day over the course of the conference (Tech Support and Moderator roles)
- Attend training sessions related to the role selected
- Participate in run-through sessions two weeks before the conference
- Volunteers should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be flexible and be comfortable with using technology (Zoom, Pheedloop, Google suite, etc).
Conference Perk!
Volunteers will receive complimentary registration to the conference and, like all attendees, will have access to the recordings of all the presentations for six months following the conference.
